Amazing days in the King's Fjord
Kongsfjorden is one of the most beautiful fjords in Svalbard. It`s protected by mountains and surrounded by stunning glacier fronts. It is inhabitated by thousands of birds, seals and whales. Global climate changes make it possible for us to visit the fjord and see the changes our selves. "Here we can see the climate changes in real life" says US Foreign minister John Kerry when he visited Ny-Ålesund in 2016. With our warm and comfortable boat, «Spitsbergen Express» we have the opportunity to offer you an exclusive trip to this fantastic fjord. During the trip we will visit places with wildlife, historical and botanical sites and of course we enter Ny-Aalesund for a historical walk. This trip is tailor made for us to make several landings to fully enhance the magic, the stories and the wildlife at it’s best. Our regular visitors are walrus, seals and whales, and if we are lucky we may cathch a glimpse of the Polar Bear during these days |

Program
Day 1.
Our guide will meet you at the airport or at your hotel 2 P.M to greet you welcome to the Arctic. After embarking the boat we will start our adventure and head northwards, getting to know the boat and the crew members.
Our first landing will be at “Poolepynten”, a small point on the east side of “Prins Karls Forland” where we normally could encounter a walrus colony. If the walruses are present we will make a landing here to enjoy and join the lazy and intriguing animals.
After the landing we will continue northwards towards the mighty “Kongsfjorden”. In one of the bays of the fjord we will anchor up and enjoy a dinner before or after a landing in a site picked by us, dependent on the weather situation.
If time permits, we will make a landing to explore the microscopic, yet exciting, flora of Svalbard.
Day 2.
Today the focus will be set on climate changes - visible and hidden proofs -, Ny-Aalesund and glaciers!
After breakfast we will sail between ice floes and wildlife towards one of the surging glaciers of the fjord. The breath taking scenery is best experienced from our fly bridge and there are lots of possibilities to have long lasting memories for us.
Ny-Aalesund, which is the northernmost settlement in the world, is today a scientific town where all major Arctic Nationalities are present. We will walk through the town and tell stories, facts and guide you through the history of this exciting and historical important town. If you would like to, you will have the possibility to visit the northernmost shop, post-office and telegraph station in the world.
After visiting the town we will now start towards the ”Krossfjorden” where we will spend the night after a historical landing in ”Signehamna”.
Day 3.
We willl start the day today just beneath a birdcliff where we could experience both the wildlife and the exciting geology surrounding us.
Our expedition will now continue southwards and on our way back to civilization we will visit ”Alkefjellet” – The mountain of Auks – and the remains from both the Russian and the Dutch whaling period in Trygghamna.
We will be back in Longyearbyen at 7 P.M so you may catch your breath and enjoy a dinner (not included) in town before the beds are calling for you.
