Forlandet from North to south
Prins Karls Forland is located at the west coast of Spitsbergen. This elongated island is known for it's spectacular mountains in the north and south, with a large plain in-between. Not many people have visited this island since it's far away from Longyearbyen and the civilization. The boat trip from Longyearbyen takes 3-4 hours, depending on the weather. During the voyage we will have a stop at "Poolepynten" to watch the lazy walruses before we continue north. The boat leaves us at the north end of the island where our hiking adventure starts. After 7 days and 84 km the boat will pick us up at the sound of Forlandet and transport us back to civilization. |
